Sun Creams & Sticks

APPLY. PROTECT. REAPPLY.
SUN CREAMS & SUN PROTECTION STICKS – TARGETED BODY PROTECTION WITH SPF 50

Sun creams, sun lotions, and sun protection sticks help protect uncovered areas of the body from UVA and UVB radiation. Rich lotions are suitable for larger skin areas, while sticks allow for targeted application on particularly exposed areas.

Our selection includes very high sun protection with SPF 50 and SPF 50+. Mineral formulations with zinc oxide and products with modern organic UV filters offer various textures and finishes. Sufficient application, even distribution, and regular reapplication are crucial.

UVA AND UVB PROTECTION FOR THE BODY

UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburn. The stated sun protection factor mainly describes the protection against this radiation.

UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin and contribute to premature light-induced skin aging. Suitable broad-spectrum protection therefore takes both UVA and UVB radiation into account.

In addition to the sun protection factor, pay attention to the UVA label of the respective product. No sunscreen can completely block UV radiation.

MINERAL AND MODERN ORGANIC UV FILTERS

KERBI's mineral sun lotions and sun protection sticks use zinc oxide as a UV filter. The Eco-Sun-Shield products from SeventyOne Percent also work with mineral filters such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

Mineral formulations can leave a visible film or slight white traces on the skin, depending on their composition. Careful and even distribution improves the appearance on the skin, but this must not be achieved by using too little product.

The Sun Kissed Lotion uses modern organic UV filters. These allow for a light, transparent texture without the white film typical of mineral sun protection.

Both types of filters can offer tested UVA and UVB protection. Mineral does not automatically mean better tolerated, and organic does not mean less effective.

SUN LOTION FOR LARGER BODY AREAS

Sun lotions are suitable for arms, legs, shoulders, the décolleté, and the torso. Their texture can be spread generously, making it easier to build up an as even a protective layer as possible.

KERBI's mineral lotions are available with or without a monoï fragrance. The fragrance-free version is particularly interesting for people who wish to avoid added fragrance compositions in their sun protection.

The Sun Kissed Lotion has a lighter, transparent texture with modern organic UV filters. It is suitable for those who prefer a fast-absorbing finish without visible white traces.

SUN PROTECTION STICKS FOR TARGETED AREAS

Sun protection sticks allow for targeted application on smaller and particularly exposed areas of the body. These include, for example, shoulders, hands, scars, tattoos, or other areas that can be covered precisely with a stick.

Slowly move the stick over the same area of skin several times. Afterward, check that the entire area is evenly covered. A single thin stroke is generally not enough to achieve the stated sun protection factor.

A sun lotion is usually better suited for large body areas. The stick supplements full-body sun protection and makes it easier to reapply on the go.

SPF 50 AND SPF 50+

SPF 50 and SPF 50+ offer very high protection and are particularly suitable for intense sun, longer stays outdoors, and for sun-sensitive skin.

The stated sun protection factor is only achieved if a sufficient amount is applied. If too little product is used, the actual protection is significantly lower.

Even a very high sun protection factor should not be used to unnecessarily prolong time spent in intense sun.

WHICH SUN CREAM SUITS YOUR SKIN?

Depending on the desired skin feel, normal skin can choose between a mineral sun lotion and a lighter formulation with modern organic UV filters.

For dry skin, richer lotions with plant oils and nourishing lipids can be pleasant.

For sensitive skin, it is recommended to take a close look at the complete ingredient list. A fragrance-free formulation may be the more suitable choice. However, mineral sun protection is not automatically better tolerated by every sensitive skin type.

New sun protection products should first be tested on a small area of skin. For children, the age recommendations of the respective manufacturer must be observed.

WATER-RESISTANT DOES NOT MEAN WATERPROOF

Water-resistant or very water-resistant sun creams and sticks are suitable for the beach, water sports, and sweat-inducing activities. However, the label does not mean that protection remains unlimited after swimming.

After swimming, heavy sweating, or towel-drying, sun protection must be reapplied and in a sufficient amount.

HOW TO APPLY SUN CREAM CORRECTLY

Apply sun cream generously and evenly to all uncovered parts of the body. Depending on body size, approximately 30 to 35 ml of sunscreen is required for the entire body of an adult.

Do not forget the back of the neck, shoulders, décolleté, arms, hands, knees, legs, and the tops of the feet. Carefully distribute the product without unnecessarily reducing the amount applied.

Reapply sun protection approximately every two hours as well as after swimming, sweating, and towel-drying.

HOW TO APPLY A SUN PROTECTION STICK CORRECTLY

Move the stick over the desired area of the body several times and with light pressure. Ensure that no untreated gaps remain.

For longer stays outdoors, the stick should only be used for smaller areas and combined with a generously applied sun lotion for the rest of the body.

Repeat the application regularly as well as after swimming, sweating, and towel-drying.

SUN PROTECTION IS MORE THAN JUST SUN CREAM

Sun protection products are only one component of comprehensive UV protection. Avoid the intense midday sun if possible and supplement protection with clothing, headgear, and shade.

Babies and young children should not be in direct sunlight. Sun protection products should not be used to prolong stays in intense sun.

In short: sun creams, mineral sun lotions, and sun protection sticks with SPF 50 or SPF 50+ for targeted and generous UVA and UVB protection of the body.
