UV FILTERS
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S), Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate (Uvinul A Plus), Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid and Ethylhexyl Triazone – these are newer chemical filters that are considered well-tolerated and photostable, meaning they are free from older filters criticized for hormonal effects and coral damage.
NIACINAMIDE (VITAMIN B3)
Strengthens the skin barrier, has anti-inflammatory effects, and can reduce redness and hyperpigmentation. It also stimulates the production of ceramides, which make the skin more resilient and reduce moisture loss. Particularly useful in sunscreens as it counteracts UV-induced hyperpigmentation and soothes irritated skin.
SODIUM HYALURONATE (HYALURONIC ACID)
Binds moisture in the skin, lightly plumps. It is the salt form of hyaluronic acid, which, due to its smaller molecular size, can penetrate slightly deeper into the upper skin layers. One molecule can bind many times its own weight in water, making the skin appear plumper and smoother.
GLYCERIN
A classic moisturizer, it retains water in the skin. It draws moisture from the environment and from deeper skin layers into the stratum corneum and holds it there. Glycerin is one of the most thoroughly researched cosmetic ingredients, extremely well-tolerated, and suitable for sensitive skin.
TOCOPHEROL (VITAMIN E)
Antioxidant, protects the skin from free radicals – a useful addition to UV protection. Free radicals are primarily caused by UV radiation and accelerate skin aging, which Vitamin E can counteract. Additionally, it stabilizes the oils in the formula and supports the skin's natural regeneration.
ALOE VERA
Soothes and moisturizes. The polysaccharides it contains form a moisturizing film on the skin, alleviating feelings of tightness. Especially after sun exposure, aloe has a cooling effect and helps soothe slightly irritated skin.
SUNFLOWER OIL & JOJOBA ESTERS
Nourishing lipids, support the skin barrier. Sunflower oil is rich in linoleic acid, a building block of the skin barrier, and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. Jojoba esters resemble the skin's natural sebum, allowing them to be particularly well absorbed and keep the skin supple.
RICE STARCH
Mattifies and provides a dry, non-sticky skin feel. The fine starch particles absorb excess oil and sweat on the skin's surface. This makes the cream particularly pleasant for combination or oily skin and prevents unwanted shine on the face.
MICA + IRON OXIDE (CI 77491)
Provides a subtle tint/shimmer. Mica is a natural mineral that reflects light and gives the skin a more even, fresh appearance. The reddish iron oxide pigment balances out the whitish cast that sunscreens can leave, providing a more natural skin tone.
